It’s unbelievable. This is my first trip to the Finals, and it’s incredibly exciting. We want to savor this moment, but we also have to keep our eyes firmly fixed on the ultimate goal. We’ll definitely take the next day or two to celebrate, and then we’ll start preparing for the next challenge. We still have four more games to win, and they’re going to be tough. I’m incredibly proud of this team. After a year filled with struggles and adversity, being in this position right now feels truly special.

Did anyone on the team tap you on the shoulder and tell you to be ready? Because you’ve been more than just “ready”—you’ve been spectacular.
Thanks, man. I really appreciate that. Honestly, one of the most beautiful things about this team is our consistent approach. It’s never a case of, “Landry, we’re leaning entirely on you tonight.” When we’re playing at our best, our defining characteristic is that we stick to our principles, play to our strengths, and rely on one another. The most beautiful aspect of this team is that a different player steps up and shines every single night. Josh Hart, for instance, was absolutely phenomenal with his performance.

However, I feel that in Game 1—when you guys were trailing—your defensive effort against Donovan Mitchell was just as crucial. Because you managed to contain their best player.
Sometimes, that responsibility falls to you. Yes, he is a tremendous player. It’s a huge advantage for us to have multiple primary defenders on our roster, as it allows us to throw different looks at an opponent. Most players can easily read and adapt to simple defensive schemes. So, we have four or five guys on the team who can be told, “You take him.”
When that happens, we have the strength to deploy various strategies on our path to victory; working together as a collective unit is absolutely vital.
Now—go celebrate! You are going to have a break of seven to ten days. The coaches have instructed you to stay sharp. In the previous series, we swept the Sixers, and our shooting was incredible.
That was a major milestone. A key takeaway from that experience was that it is human nature to get complacent. You cannot replicate a playoff atmosphere during practice. It is difficult to recreate that intensity—that whole dynamic.
So, we have to find a way—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually—to ensure that our intensity remains undiminished.
That way, we’ll have a productive week and be ready to go. Laundry—I promise this is the last question. I’m eager to hear this. You guys are in a unique situation; just like in the last series, you’re getting eight nights off, and you still don’t know who your opponent will be.

We waited so long for this series, yet we only had one day to prepare for Cleveland. You know how it goes—you take things gradually; you watch film on both potential opponents.
We have plenty of time. So, the players stay busy watching video footage and analyzing games. We’ll review the tendencies of both teams, and once our opponent is confirmed, we’ll focus our preparation specifically on that squad.
We only had one day to fully prepare for our series against Cleveland. But, as you know, that’s something you simply can’t control.
So, let’s just see how this series unfolds against whichever of these two strong teams we end up facing. We’ll stay focused on the things we can control and ensure we’re fully prepared for Game 1.
